The Anatomy of a Table, 1990
Reopening an age-old conversation regarding art versus craft, this exhibition seeks to debunk the concept of artistic categorization. Repurposing found objects into works of art as well as sourcing local materials to promote sustainable practices remain at the heart of this show. Some examples include a table made from a child’s red wagon, a chandelier fashioned after a three-dimensional celestial diagram, a former clawfoot-bathtub turned coffee table and a light fixture created from an old pedal bike. Anatomy of a Table redefines the role of fine art to its integration within daily life.
